Late Georgian Old Sheffield Plate (silver plate on copper) entree dish & cover with warming stand and elaborate mask head handles. Circa 1820 - 1830.
Comprises of an oblong entree dish and cover with gadrooned borders and a fruiting vine embossed removable handle. The entree dish sits on a filled liner and all are housed within an elaborate warming stand with wonderful mask head handles. The warming stand is raised on circular feet with wooden insulators.
Condition is very good with light surface wear commensurate with age and for its use as a serving dish. There are some minor depressions to the filled liner. Some light copper bleed in places. The handle does not lock tight and two feet do not fully fasten tight, but are secure and the stand does not rock on a flat surface.
Approximate weight is 6.3 kilos.
