Georgian Old Sheffield Plate Large Gallery Desk Stand, circa 1820. This inkstand has a full and ornate pierced gallery. The standish features twin diamond cut glass inkwells with ornate bottle mounts. There is a central wafer box with a gilded interior. The inkstand is raised on four bun feet.
In excellent condition with light surface wear commensurate with age. The pierced gallery is without damage. There is no glass damage. Losses to one bottle collar, but this is not seen when the cap is in place. The stand has been replated and the wafer box later gilded.
Approximate weight is 3.05 kilos.
