Georgian, set of four Sheffield Plated butter shell dishes. Each shell is crested with the image of a mountain goat, beneath which is a monogram. Each shell is raised on two conical feet.
In very good condition with some wear and small losses to the silver layer. Surface wear commensurate with age. Some discolouration and small dints.
One of the shells bears the twin sun marks of Matthew Boulton.
Approximate total weight of all four shells is 454 grams.
Approximate dimensions of one are 13 cm width, 14.5 cm length and 2.5 cm height.
