Highly detailed novelty silver plated salt in the form of a crab. The shell lifts up to reveal the salt. The quality of workmanship is outstanding and I suspect that it is actually made of silver, as there are a couple of control marks inside the crab. Dates to late 19th century.
In excellent order with a lovely patina.
