HMS Southampton, Launched 1820, An Oak Newel Post Ball Finial Removed in 1908 when she was known as HTS (Hull Training Ship) Southampton and was Moored in Hull, East Yorkshire. She had Served as an Industrial Training School there since 1868.

HMS Southampton was laid down at Deptford Dockyard in 1817 as a fourth-rate 52 gun frigate. Initially mothballed due to the end of the Napoleonic Wars. In the 1830's and 40's she was saw service at various points in the world, including India and South Africa. From 1861 to 1867 she served as a Coastguard ship in Harwich.

In 1867 she was transferred to Hull and on 18 Jun 1867 began service as a Coastguard training ship. While at Hull she was moored off Sammy's Point on the east bank at the confluence of the River Hull and the Humber.

On July 31st, 1868, the ship was officially certified as an Industrial School Ship, and was allowed to take boys committed by magistrates. The vessel could accommodate 240 boys aged from 11 to 15. 

She was broken up in 1912.

In good condition with age related wear. The plaque states launched in 1805, but she was launched in 1820. Missing the top two pins securing the plaque to the wood.
