Indian Silver First World War Commemorative Salver for 92nd Punjabis. Features a raised shell and scroll border. The centre with the motto of the 92nd Punjabi Regiment and engraved facsimile signatures of their officers.
For their exceptional bravery and excellent performance in the war, the 92nd Punjabis were made the Prince of Wales's own. The regiment served in the Middle East during this conflict.
Marked to the front as Orr Silver of Madras. This was the firm of Peter Orr and Sons, jewellers and silversmiths to the Prince of Wales. Some pieces of Orr silver are displayed in the Victoria and Albert Museum
