Large Victorian silver plated wrestling trophy cup and cover with ornate finial. The part fluted pedestal cup is raised on a circular foot and features twin leaf capped handles. There are a number of vacant cartouches and one features an engraving of two wrestlers. The domed cover features a cherub as Britannia.
The cup belonged to Hexham Clark (Clarke), a well known Cumberland and Westmorland style heavyweight wrestler. He was active during the late Victorian period.

In excellent order with moderate surface wear commensurate with age. A couple of light pressure marks around the girdle area (level with the bottom of the handles).
The makers mark is that of Henry Bourne of Birmingham and dates to around 1890.
