Late Georgian Old Sheffield Plate punch bowl circa 1820 -1840. Of compressed circular form with repousse decoration featuring repeat bow and flower border, above acanthus fluting. The top rim is gadrooned and the body sits on an acanthus leaf capped base.
Condition is excellent with no dents or splits, just little hints of copper bleed. The decoration is stunning and it's a really well made punch bowl that's ready to use with one of my toddy ladles!
Approximate weight is 2.9 kilos or 93 troy ounces.
Approximate dimensions are 29 cm diameter and 19 cm height.
