A Mahogany Cased Pair of Binoculars with Presentation Plaque from the French Naval & Colonies Minister to Capain Archibald MacNoah, Commander of the "Lockett", out of Liverpool, for Rescuing the Captain and Crew of the Three Master, "Georges Auger", out of Le Havre, in 1880. The binoculars are also inscribed. The mahogany case with the makers/retail stamp of Iseli of Boulevard St. Germain, Paris.

The Lockett was a 576 ton Barque, launched in 1852 and registered to the Port of Liverpool.

In excellent condition with moderate surface wear.

Approximate total cased weight is 1.58 kilos.

Approximate case dimensions are 18 cm length and width and 11 cm height.
