Napoleon Bonaparte, A Pair of Oval Boxwood Strung Mahogany Framed Handcoloured Stipple Engravings.
The standing figure of Napoleon is after the 1801 drawing by Jean-Baptiste Isabey (1767 - 1855), showing Napoleon outside the Palace of Malmaison. The portrait was drawn after the artist watched General Bonaparte pacing alone in the gardens.
The seated figure, 'La Veille De La Bataille D'Austerlitz', depicts Napoleon contemplating matters, at the bivouac, on the eve of the Battle of Austerlitz, after the engraving by Philippoteaux.
Approximate weight for the pair is 368 grams.
Approximate dimensions of one are 19 cm height, 15.5 cm width and 1.7 cm depth.
In good condition with some marking/discolouration to the depiction of Napoleon standing (visible as a brown mark in photo 2).
