Silver Plated Inkstand Advertising Thomas W. Ward of Albion Works, Savile Street, Sheffield. The base of the inkstand features a finely detailed engraved picture of Albion Works. The covers on the three compartments lift to reveal contact details for TWW (Thomas William Ward). Founded in 1878 the company was a steel, cement and engineering business. This inkstand dates to circa 1930's or 1940's.
The inkstand is raised on four stepped feet with pen rests to either side of the raised section containing compartments for ink and stamps. The raised section features engraved detail and vacant cartouches.
Marked to the underside for John Turton & Co. of Sheffield and also their trademark of Buxbridge.
In excellent order with minimal surface wear. No damage to the two glass liners. No loss of silver plate.
