An Asprey pocket barometer, housed in a solid silver case, hallmarked for London 1892, by Barnett & Scott. The attaching loop is also hallmarked silver. Stamped on the front with "C & G E Asprey, 166 New Bond St, London". In fine working order and used by Victorians for travel in mountainous regions.
Compensated and stamped number 149175 over a triangular trademark, within a concentric scale.
The barometer has been "bag" tested and the gauge moves according to pressure exerted upon the inflated bag.
In excellent order with surface wear commensurate with age. No damage to the glass or silver.
Approximate weight is 90 grams.
Approximate dimensions are 7.5 cm height, 5 cm width and 1.5 cm depth.
