Victorian oak cased canteen of silver fruit knives and three prong forks for twelve persons. Each handle is monogrammed with the letter H along with the brass cartouche on the oak case. The fitted oak case is lined with purple velvet and satin. This canteen was retailed by The Goldsmiths and Silversmiths Company in Regent Street, London and their name is marked to the case interior. 

The cutlery is in excellent order with moderate surface wear commensurate with age and use. All blades, handles and tines are in good order. The oak case has a hairline crack across the top cover.

Each knife blade, fork tine and handle are hallmarked for London 1887/88 by The Goldsmiths Alliance (Joseph & Horace Savory). In 1893 the firm went voluntarily out of business and was taken over by the Goldsmiths and Silversmiths Company Ltd. 

Approximate dimensions of each knife is 21 cm length and each fork is 18.5 cm length.

Total weight of case and all cutlery is approximately 2.825 kilos.

Approximate case dimensions are 34 cm length, 26 cm width and 6 cm height.
