Mid Victorian matching set of four silver entree dishes and covers. Of oval form with beaded borders and detachable handles. The covers engraved with foliate decoration, Greek key pattern and crested to either side with the motto " INDUSTRIA ET PROBITATE". Each dish, cover and handle are numbered from 1 to 4. The cover, with the handle removed, can be turned into a serving dish.
In excellent order with only light surface wear.
Each dish, cover and handle is hallmarked for Sheffield 1856 by Martin Hall & Co.
Approximate total weight for all four is 6.803 kilos or 218 troy ounces.
Approximate dimensions are 31 cm length, 24 cm width and 13 cm height.
