Victorian, silver mounted leather wallet, retailed by Jones of Paris. This is a very early silver mounted wallet and the exterior is in black leather. The patent clasp opens to reveal three soft blue leather compartments and a pencil holder. The retailers name, Jones of Paris, is in gilt lettering.
In excellent order for such an early piece. No damage to the silver or the interior. The exterior is in very good order with slight wear to the corners.
The mount is hallmarked for London 1872 by Richard Kipps. The clasp is part hallmarked.
Approximate dimensions are 12.5 cm length, 8.2 cm width and 1.5 cm thickness.
