A Victorian silver plated soup tureen and cover. Both the tureen and the cover feature the crest of a bird with the motto "Esto Semper Fidelis" , which translates to "Be Ever Faithful". The tureen features a gadrooned border, reeded loop handles with leaf capping in the lower part and a leaf join at the body. The tureen is raised on an oval pedestal gadrooned foot. The domed cover features gadrooned detail with a leaf capped loop handle.
Marked to the underside of the base for Elkington and Co. with a date letter for 1888.
In excellent order with moderate surface wear. Free of dents, creases and repairs.
