Victorian silver plated presentation tray from George Burns. He was known as the 2nd Baron Inverclyde and was the owner of a Scottish shipping company, G & J Burns Ltd. He eventually became chairman of the Cunard Steamship Company.
The tray is of circular form with three pin legs in the manner of Dr Christopher Dresser.
The inscription relates to George Burns gifting the tray to his god daughter on 17/9/1880.
Marked to the rear for Hukin & Heath.
In excellent order with very light surface wear.
Approximate weight is 887 grams.
Approximate dimensions are 33.3 cm diameter and 4 cm height.
