Victorian Silver Snuff Box. Of rectangular form with reeded detail to the sides and a vacant plaque to the cover. The cover and underside of the base have worn engraved detail.
Hallmarked for Birmingham 1840 by Neustadt & Barnett.
The snuff box is in good condition with two solder repairs to two interior corners of the base (photo 9). One solder repair to one interior corner of the cover (photo 10). None of these are visble from the outside, but the cover repair shows as a small split at one corner.
Approximate weight is 45 grams or 1.4 troy ounces.
Approximate dimensions are 5.3 cm length, 3.3 cm width and 1.5 cm depth.
