Victorian Silver Snuff Box. The borders with raised foliate and scroll detail. Engine turned detail throughout and a gilded interior. The front cover with an 1877 presentation inscription to William Lewis for being the best swordsman in the Montgomeryshire Yeomanry (MY) Cavalry.

The regiment was first formed in 1803. It provided volunteers to the Imperial Yeomanry during the Second Boer War and formed three regiments for service during World War One. It was broken up and converted to infantry and artillery in 1920.

Hallmarked for Birmingham 1877 by George Unite.

In excellent condition with light surface wear commensurate with age.
