William IV mahogany cased canteen of silver King's pattern dessert or fruit knives and forks for twelve persons. The mahogany fitted case is original and is inlaid with brass.
Condition is very good with moderate surface wear and some very light pressure marks to the handles. No dents or creases to warrant any restoration. There is wear to the interior of the case, in proportion with its age. This canteen of cutlery is ready to use. The fitted case has some losses to the brass inlay and a split in the top cover which runs the full length of the case. The blades and tines are in good order. Some slight gaps between handles and fork stems/knife blades, but all are secure.
Not for dishwasher use. Wash only in lukewarm water.
Hallmarked on the knife blades, fork prongs and handles for Birmingham 1832 by George Unite. Some marks are rubbed but all are part legible.
