William IV silver and ivory handled dessert service for six persons. Housed in a non original mahogany fitted case with a vacant shield cartouche.
This item is only suitable for sale within the UK due to the ivory content. It will not be eligible for an exemeption permit under the new DEFRA ivory rules and will be withdrawn from sale when the new law takes effect.
In very good condition. There is some ivory discolouration and a split to one knife handle. The handles are all sound to use. Moderate wear to the knife blades. The mahogany case is in very good condition, with a slight gap on the right side when the cover is closed. There is part of a broken key in the lock. This service is ready to use at the table.
All of the knife blades and fork stems are hallmarked for Sheffield 1832 by Atkin & Oxley.
